Travel Vaccinations and Advice
Vaccinations
If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.
Our practice nurses are available by appointment to offer medical advice regarding travel and vaccinations where appropriate.
Please note: You may need a specialist travel consultation (private) for situations listed below which we cannot provide under the NHS:
- High altitude / climbers
- Deep sea divers
- People on immunosuppressants, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, you may also need to speak with your consultant.

Which travel vaccines do I need?
You can find out which vaccinations are necessary or recommended for the areas you'll be visiting on these websites:
Some countries require proof of vaccination (for example, for polio or yellow fever vaccination), which must be documented on an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) before you enter or when you leave a country.
Find out more about the vaccines available for travellers abroad.
Please note: We do not offer all travel vaccinations. We don't administer the following and they would need to be done at a private clinic:
- Hep B
- Japanese encephalitis
- Meningitis vaccines
- Rabies
- Tick borne encephalitis
- TB
- Yellow fever – only available from designated centres.
- Malaria
The following organisations can provide you with travel vaccinations and travel advice:
- MASTA Travel Health
- Superdrug
- City Doc
- Circle Health Group
- ECG Training
- Fit For Travel
- Travel Health Pro for recommendations by country.
Please book an appointment at least 8 weeks before your departure to discuss your travel vaccinations. We have limited appointments so if we are unable to book you in, you will either need to check with us regularly to see if any become available or if your travel is imminent, you may need to check with another service to see if they can help.
